Hydrocephalus is the meaning of, “water around the brain.” In the word Hydrocephalus, Hydro means, “water” and cephalus means, “the head.” The Symptoms depend on, your age and the amount of the damage on the brain. Earlier symptoms include eye appear to gaze down, seizures, sleepiness, and vomiting. Symptoms that occur with older children include the changes in personality, crossed eyes, trouble walking, bad temper control, and difficult eating. Other tests include brain tests and x-rays. Severe infections may require the shunt to be removed. The shunt systems are not the best devices. Without medication, people up to 6-10 people with this type of illness would pass away. People that do survive would have disabilities. If their may be a problem like breathing problems, fever, loudness cry, no pulse, seizures, stiff neck, or vomiting then you should call 911 or the emergency room.
